VITALIE ZEGERA

COUNTRY DIRECTOR

Vitalie joined ADRA Myanmar in October 2020 and brings two decades of leadership experience from across the world. Most recently, he led ADRA Bangladesh, providing strategic leadership in a complex context. Based in Yangon, Vitalie is now leading one of ADRA’s largest national offices within the Asia Region. Vitalie’s leadership plays a pivotal role in ensuring that ADRA Myanmar continues to safely and effectively serve the most vulnerable communities, and that we adapt and become innovative during this unprecedented COVID-19 pandemic. 

Vitalie is passionate about building and empowering local leaders, both women and men, and remains dedicated to reaching the country’s most vulnerable population. He has leveraged his expertise to build strong partnerships for impact between government, private sector, faith-based organizations, NGOs and a variety of donors. He brings extensive background in leadership, having earned his degrees in Germany and the USA. German by nationality, Vitalie is married to Ramona who has accompanied him, and is supporting ADRA Myanmar in the HR Department.

YUBA RAJ CHAUDHARY

FINANCE AND ADMINISTRATION DIRECTOR

Yuba Raj joined ADRA Myanmar in April 2019 and has over 25 years of experience in International Development and Emergency Management working in both Nepal and Myanmar in organisations including; ADRA, Save the Children, iDE USA, DISVI and AMDA. His roles in ADRA have included senior finance positions, serving as Acting Country Director successfully for a number of years, and a deployment to Bangladesh as a part of an Emergency Response Team (ERT) as well as being actively engaged in ADRA’s Regional Finance Working Group. Yuba Raj has an MBA degree and extensive financial management and organizational development skills. His expertise in financial compliance and accountability is broadened by his leadership and program development experience.

JOHN MUBONDERI

PROGRAMS DIRECTOR

After 12 years in the humanitarian sector, John joined ADRA Myanmar from Mercy Corps Somalia in August 2019 as Programs Director and leverages his program leadership expertise to maximise the efficiency and impact of our programs in the country. humble and firm Zimbabwean nationalJohn now leads ourincredible programs team comprised of operations and subject-matter experts who provide management and technical knowledge for program design and implementation, ensuring our initiatives are strategic, informed, and sustainable. 

Prior to ADRA Myanmar, John held senior leadership roles with a range of organisations such as Save the Children, OXFAM, Mercy Corps and MERLIN, providing field and country level leadership for major disaster responses including in Somalia, Syria, Afghanistan, Ethiopia, South Sudan and Zimbabwe. John is a University of Zimbabwe trained Psychologist and a holder of a postgraduate qualification in Project Planning and Management. 

As the world continues to change at a rapid pace, John’s goal is to continue to be challenged by new ideas, new ways of engaging in humanitarian and development work, and to lead people and processes to think that the impossible is possible. 

Born from an Adventist family, John enjoys practicing the Adventist health message and likes spending time with family

Our Admin Team

ADRA Myanmar currently employs over 120 staff spread between our Head Office in Yangon, and 4 sub-offices in; Gangaw, Magway Region, Lashio, Shan State, Pyin Oo Lwin, Mandalay Region, and Hpa-An, Kayin State. Our head office provides administrative support to our projects and functions as a link between our partners and donors for communication, coordination and reporting.
