Before the conflict, Daw Hkawn Tawng owned walnuts, trees and a tea leaf garden. She is 50 years old living with her husband and their four children in Wu Htau, Sadung township. When her children passed Grade Four, they were sent to their relatives from her mother’s side in Waing Maw to continue their education. Their life was happy and simple.
In 2011, the conflict started. They had to flee their home and business to Waingmaw. Their family was separated. They ran for their lives. When their family fled to Waingmaw Myoma Church, her parents-in-law were with her husband’s siblings in Zai Aung and Mung Ga Zup camp. In 2013, KBC gathered all the IDPs into Maina KBC camp including Daw Hkawn Tawng and her family.
In 2017, when the conflict started again in Zai Aung camp. The IDPs, including her separated parents-in-law, were displaced again for a second time. All they had at home had to be left behind.
While we have been living in this camp, we have been struggling socially and experiencing financial problems. Everyone has to stay in a small room separated by a bamboo fence partition. When we arrived at the camp, our children were still very young. Now they are in their teens and they don’t have separate rooms for their own privacy. As a mother and parent, it is so sad for my children.
Daw Hkawn Tawng works as a daily worker when jobs are available. She will take whatever job opportunities come. Sometimes she plants rice on a farm, sometimes handwashing laundry for others. Her husband Sumlut Naung Lat works by digging holes for tree plantation, weeding, and cutting bamboo trees near the China border. It is a struggle to survive.
Soon, I heard of a project called ELS ‘Education and Livelihoods Support’ run by ADRA Myanmar. This project provided education support funds for our children’s education.
“I could pay boarding school fees for my children. It cost 1,400,000 MMK per year. It was a heavy load for us. Because of your support we could make it for our children’s study. I am old and people rarely offer me jobs. My husband suffers from kidney issues. I have a lot of difficulties. Thank you so much to ADRA/Czech Republic for your support,” Daw Hkawn Tawng said.
Daw Hkawn Tawng has been wanting to return home and work as before, as well as support their children for the best chances in life. But like many families, till today, there has been no chance of returning to their village, so Daw Hkawn Tawng is still hoping and waiting for it.
ဒေါ်ခေါန်တောင်ပုံပြင်- စစ်ဘေးရှောင် မိသားစုများအား ပညာရေးအတွက် ငွေကြေးအထောက်အပံ့ပေးခြင်း
ပဋိပက္ခများမဖြစ်ပွားမီအချိန်က ဒေါ်ခေါန်တောင်သည် ကိုယ်ပိုင်သစ်ကြားသီးခြံနှင့် လက်ဖက်စိုက်ပျိုးခြံတို့ကို ပိုင်ဆိုင်ထားသည်။ သူမသည်အသက်အရွယ်အားဖြင့် ၅၀ နှစ် ရှိပြီဖြစ်ကာ ခင်ပွန်းဖြစ်သူ၊ သားသမီးလေးဦးတို့နှင့် ဆဒုံးမြို့နယ်၊ ဝူထောင်ရွာတွင် နေထိုင်ခဲ့သည်။ သူမ၏သားသမီးများ လေးတန်းအောင်သောအခါ ၎င်းတို့ဆက်လက်ပညာသင်ကြားနိုင်ရေးအတွက် ဝိုင်းမော်၌ရှိသော ဆွေမျိုးများထံသို့ ပို့ထားခဲ့သည်။ ယင်းအချိန်က သူမတို့၏ ဘဝသည် ရိုးရိုးရှင်းရှင်းနှင့် ပျော်ရွှင်ခဲ့ရသည်။
၂၀၁၁ ခုနှစ်တွင် ပဋိပက္ခများဖြစ်ပွားလာသောအခါတွင်တော့ သူမတို့မိသားစုမှာ အိုးအိမ်နှင့် အသက်မွေးဝမ်းကျောင်းလုပ်ငန်းတို့ကို စွန့်ခွာ၍ ဝိုင်းမော်မြို့သို့ ထွက်ပြေးတိမ်းရှောင်ခဲ့ရသည်။ သူမတို့၏ မိသားစုဝင်များသည်လည်း တကွဲတပြားစီနှင့် ဖြစ်ခဲ့ရသည်။ အသက်လု၍လည်း ပြေးခဲ့ရသည်။ သူမတို့မိသားစု ဝိုင်းမော်မြို့ရှိ မြို့မဘုရားကျောင်းတွင် ရောက်ရှိနေချိန်တွင် သူမ၏ ယောက္ခမများသည် ခင်ပွန်းဖြစ်သူ၏ ညီအစ်ကိုမောင်နှမများနှင့် အတူ ဇိုင်းအောင်(မုန်ဂါဇွပ်) စစ်ရှောင်ဒုက္ခသည်စခန်းတွင် ရောက်ရှိနေခဲ့သည်။ ၂၀၁၃ ခုနှစ်တွင် နေထိုင်စရာ အဆင်သင့်ဖြစ်လာချိန်တွင်တော့ KBC သည် ဒေါ်ခေါန်တောင်တို့ မိသားစုအပါအဝင် စစ်ရှောင်ဒုက္ခသည်များအားလုံးကို မိုင်းနား KBC စစ်ရှောင်ဒုက္ခသည်စခန်းသို့ ခေါ်ဆောင်၍ နေရာပြန်လည်ချထားပေးခဲ့သည်။
၂၀၁၇ ခုနှစ်တွင် ဇိုင်းအောင်(မုန်ဂါဇွပ်)စစ်ရှောင်ဒုက္ခသည်စခန်းတွင် ပဋိပက္ခများထပ်မံဖြစ်ပွားခဲ့ရာ သူမ၏ ယောက္ခမဖြစ်သူတို့နှင့်အတူ စစ်ရှောင်ဒုက္ခသည်များအားလုံးမှာ နောက်ထပ်တစ်ကြိမ်ထပ်မံ၍ နေရာရွှေ့ပြောင်းခဲ့ရသည်။ စစ်ရှောင်များအားလုံးအနေနှင့် ၎င်းတို့နေအိမ်၌ရှိသော အရာများအားလုံးကိုလည်း ချန်ထားခဲ့ရသည်။
“ကျွန်မတို့အနေနဲ့ ဒီစခန်းမှာနေထိုင်ချိန်မှာတော့ လူမှုရေးပြဿနာ၊ ငွေကြေးအခက်အခဲစတဲ့ ပြဿနာတွေ အများကြီးနဲ့ ရင်ဆိုင်ခဲ့ရပါတယ်။ အားလုံးက အခန်းကျဥ်းကျဥ်းလေးတွေထဲမှာပဲ နေထိုင်ခဲ့ရတယ်။ ဒီစခန်းကိုရောက်လာတဲ့အချိန်မှာလည်း ကျွန်မတို့ကလေးတွေက အရမ်းကို ငယ်ပါသေးတယ်။ အခုအချိန်မှာတော့ သူတို့အရွယ်ရောက်လာပြီဖြစ်လို့ သူတို့အတွက် ကိုယ်ပိုင်အခန်းသီးသန့်လည်း မရှိပါဘူး။ ဒါဟာမိဘတွေအတွက်တော့ ဝမ်းနည်းစရာပါ။”
ဒေါ်ခေါန်တောင်အနေဖြင့် ရရှိသည့်အလုပ်ဟူသမျှကို လုပ်ကိုင်ခဲ့သည်။ တစ်ခါတစ်ရံတွင် လယ်စိုက်ခြင်းနှင့် အဝတ်လျှော်ပေးခြင်းစသည့်အလုပ်များကို လိုက်လံလုပ်ကိုင်ပေးခဲ့သည်။ သူမ၏ ခင်ပွန်းဖြစ်သူ ဦးဆွမ်လွတ်နောင်လတ်သည်လည်း အပင်စိုက်ပျိုးရေးလုပ်ငန်းအတွက် မြေကျွင်းတူးဖော်ခြင်း၊ ပေါင်းသတ်ခြင်းနှင့် ဝါးခုတ်ခြင်းစသည့်အလုပ်များကိုလည်း မိသားစုစားဝတ်နေရေးအတွက် ကြိုးစားလုပ်ကိုင်ခဲ့သည်။
မကြာမီမှာပဲ ကျွန်မအနေနဲ့ ပညာရေးနဲ့ အသက်မွေးဝမ်းကျောင်းကိုထောက်ပံ့ပေးတဲ့ ADRA Myanmar ရဲ့ ELS စီမံကိန်းအကြောင်းကို ကြားသိခဲ့ရတယ်။
“ကျွန်မကလေးတွေ ကျောင်းစရိတ်ဘော်ဒါကြေးက တစ်နှစ်ကို ၁၄ သိန်းလောက်ရှိတယ်။ ဒီပမာဏက ကျွန်မတို့အတွက် အရမ်းကိုများလွန်းတယ်။ အခုလိုထောက်ပံ့ပေးတာကြောင့်သာ ကျွန်မတို့အနေနဲ့ ကလေးတွေပညာရေးအတွက် ရင်းနှီးမြှပ်နှံပေးနိုင်ခဲ့တာ။ ကျွန်မကလည်း အသက်ကြီးနေပြီဆိုတော့ အလုပ်ရဖို့ဆိုတာလည်း မလွယ်ကူတော့ဘူး။ အမျိုးသားကလည်း ကျောက်ကပ်ရောဂါရှိတယ်ဆိုတော့ ကျွန်မတို့အတွက် အခက်အခဲတွေအများကြီးပဲရှိတယ်။ ဒါကြောင့် အခုလိုထောက်ပံ့ပေးတဲ့ ADRA နဲ့ အလှူရှင်တို့ကိုလည်း အရမ်းကျေးဇူးတင်ပါတယ်”ဟု ဒေါ်ခေါန်တောင်က ပြောဆိုသည်။
ဒေါ်ခေါန်တောင်အနေဖြင့် သူမ၏ရပ်ရွာ၊ နေအိမ်သို့ပြန်ပြီး ယခင်ကကဲ့သို့အလုပ်များကိုလုပ်ကိုင်ကာ သားသမီးများ၏ ပညာရေးအတွက် အကောင်းဆုံးအခွင့်အလမ်းများကို ဖန်တီးပေးလိုသည်လည်း ဖြစ်သည်။ သို့သော်လည်း စစ်ရှောင်ဒုက္ခသည်မိသားစုအများအပြားကဲ့သို့ပင် ရပ်ရွာသို့ပြန်လည်သွားရောက်နေထိုင်ရန် အခွင့်အရေးမှာ ယနေ့ထက်တိုင် မရရှိသေးပေ။ သို့သော်လည်း သူမနေဖြင့် မျှော်လင့်ချက်များက ရှိနေဆဲဖြစ်ပြီး ယင်းအချိန်ရောက်လာမည့်တစ်နေ့ကို မျှော်လင့်စောင့်ဆိုင်းလျက်ရှိသည်။
