My name is Daw Htu Bu and I am 48 years old living in Shwe Zet IDP (Internally Displaced Person) Camp. I have seven family members and 5 children. I have been living in Shwe Zet IDP camp for nearly 8 years since my family and I fled our home in Tar Lway Gyi village where we worked as famers back in 2011.
When the conflict started, we heard gun shooting and were very afraid. We ran and hid until things quietened down and decided that we needed to leave and go to Myitkyina for safety.
Before, in our home village, it was not difficult to gain income for our livelihood on our farm. Since living in this camp for the past 8 years, it has been very difficult. My husband was able to find employment as a General worker in the city (Myitkyina) and I try to find work as a helper in nearby households, but it is not enough to make ends meet.
Our children attend school in 2, 7 and 10 standards. With five children, our family has the need for a lot of school equipment, uniforms, books, bags and umbrellas. Two of our children must share an umbrella. Before, my children were not able to attend a proper school, but now they are attending one in the city. I am very proud of their education; it is mother’s love. I want to go back home to our village, but I also want our children to be educated in a good school. It’s only that we struggle to make enough income for our family’s expenses.
This year, I heard of a project called ELS ‘Education and Livelihoods Support’ run by ADRA Myanmar. This project provided education support funds for our children’s education of 300,000 MMK (USD$200) which we used for my daughter to attend 10 standard in a good school in Myitkyina as well as some school materials. We don’t want to use this money for anything other than our children’s education. I am very thankful and glad to the staff and donors for helping to support my family. The other parents in this camp are also very happy to receive this kind of support.
The ELS project funded by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Czech Republic and ADRA Czech Republic, aims to improve the dignity and capacity of persons affected by disasters and conflict through providing education and livelihood support.
ADRA Myanmar Education Officer, Daw Htay Htay Myint from ELS project stated; “Our ELS project is run in 14 IDP camps in Waingmaw and Myitkyina Townships, Kachin state. Our projects main focus is to support children’s education. We have already provided support to 323 students. We choose the students who are most in need and who are almost out of school. I think this fund is very effective for their education. When I did monitoring, it is clear our support funds are effective for their lives. In Shwe Zet IDP camp we have supported 24 students with education support funds, and we plan to support another 65 students in the coming month”.
ဒေါ်ထုဘူ၏ ဇာတ်ကြောင်း-စစ်ရှောင်စခန်းတွင်နေထိုင်သော သားသမီးများအား ပညာသင်ကြားပေးခြင်း
ကျွန်မနာမည် ဒေါ်ထုဘူလို့ခေါ်ပါတယ်။ ကျွန်မအသက်ကတော့ ၄၈ နှစ်ပါ။ အခုကျွန်မက ဒီရွှေစက်စစ်ရှောင်စခန်းမှာ နေနေပါတယ်။ ကျွန်မမှာကလေးငါးယောက်ရှိပြီး မိသားစုဝင်စုစုပေါင်း ခုနစ်ယောက်ပါ။ ကျွန်မအနေနဲ့ ဒီစစ်ရှောင်စခန်းမှာ နေနေတာ အခုရှစ်နှစ်ရှိပါပြီ။ ကျွန်မတို့ကအရင်တုန်းက တာလောကြီးကျေးရွာမှာနေပြီး လယ်လုပ်ပါတယ်။ အဲဒီကနေမှ၂၀၁၁ ခုနှစ်မှာ ကျွန်မတို့မိသားစုပြောင်းရွှေ့လာခဲ့တာပါ။
အဲဒီအချိန် ကျွန်မတို့ရွာနားမှာ တိုက်ပွဲတွေဖြစ်တုန်းက ပစ်ခတ်နေသံတွေကိုကြားခဲ့ရလို့ ကျွန်မတို့အရမ်းထိတ်လန့် ကြောက်ရွံ့ခဲ့ရတယ်။ အဲဒီနောက်တော့ ကျွန်မတို့မိသားစုထွက်ပြေးတိမ်းရှောင်ခဲ့တယ်။ အခြေအနေတွေတည်ငြိမ်သွားတော့ မိသားစုအနေနဲ့ဘေးကင်းလုံခြုံမယ့်မြစ်ကြီးနားကို ပြောင်းရွှေ့နေထိုင်ဖို့ ကျွန်မတို့ ဆုံးဖြတ်ချက်ချခဲ့ပါတယ်။
ကျွန်မတို့အရင်ရွာမှာနေတုန်းကလယ်ယာလုပ်တာဆိုတော့ အဲဒီကနေဝင်ငွေရနေတဲ့အတွက် စားဝတ်နေရေးက အရမ်းကြီး မခက်ခဲပါဘူး။ အခုတော့ကျွန်မတို့အနေနဲ့စားဝတ်နေရေးအတွက်ရုန်းကန်နေရတယ်။ ခက်ခဲတယ်။ ကျွန်မအမျိုးသားဆိုရင်လည်း မြစ်ကြီးနားမြို့ထဲမှာအလုပ်ရှိရင် နေ့စားအနေနဲ့သွားလုပ်ရတယ်။ ကျွန်မအနေနဲ့လည်း နီးစပ်ရာအိမ်တွေမှာအကူအနေနဲ့ အလုပ်သွားလုပ်ရတာရှိတယ်။ ဒါပေမဲ့ ကျွန်မတို့မိသားစုအတွက် ဒါကအရမ်းကြီး မလုံလောက်ပါဘူး။
အခုဆိုရင် ကျွန်မကလေးတွေက ဆယ်တန်းရယ်၊ နှစ်တန်းရယ်၊ ခုနစ်တန်းရယ်နဲ့ အသီးသီးကျောင်းတက်နေကြပါတယ်။ ဒီတော့ကလေးတွေအတွက် ကျောင်းဝတ်စုံ၊ စာအုပ်၊ လွယ်အိတ်နဲ့ ထီးတို့ကလိုအပ်တယ်။ ထီးဆိုရင်နှစ်ယောက်ကို တစ်ချောင်းပဲဆောင်းနိုင်တယ်။ အရင်တုန်းကတော့ကျွန်မကလေးတွေကျောင်းကောင်းကောင်းမတက်နိုင်ကြဘူး။ အခုတော့ သူတို့မြို့မှာကျောင်းတက်နိုင်ပြီ။ ကျွန်မကလေးတွေရဲ့ပညာရေးအတွက်ကျွန်မအနေနဲ့အရမ်းဂုဏ်ယူရတယ်။ အဲဒါမိခင်မေတ္တာလို့ခေါ်မလားမပြောတတ်ဘူး။ ကျွန်မအနေနဲ့ရွာကအိမ်ကိုပြန်ချင်ပေမယ့် ကျွန်မတို့ကလေးတွေ ကျောင်းကောင်းကောင်းမှာတက်ပြီး ပညာတတ်ကြီးဖြစ်တာကို မြင်ချင်သေးတယ်။ ဒါကြောင့်ကျွန်မတို့မိသားစုရဲ့ကုန်ကျစရိတ်အတွက် ဝင်ငွေလုံလုံလောက်လောက်ရဖို့ ကြိုးစားရုန်းကန်နေရတယ်။
ဒီနှစ်မှာတော့ကျွန်မအနေနဲ့ ADRA မြန်မာကလုပ်တဲ့ ပညာရေးနှင့် လူမှုဘဝထောက်ပံ့ရေးပေးတဲ့စီမံကိန်းရှိတယ်ဆိုတာ ကြားသိခဲ့ရတယ်။ ဒီစီမံကိန်းက ကလေးတွေအတွက်ပညာရေးရန်ပုံငွေအဖြစ် ကျပ်သုံးသိန်းထောက်ပံ့ပါတယ်။ ကျွန်မသမီးက အခု ၁၀ တန်းတက်နေတော့ သူ့အတွက်ပညာရေးစရိတ်နဲ့ ကျောင်းသုံးလိုအပ်တဲ့ပစ္စည်းတွေ ဝယ်တဲ့နေရာမှာ ကျွန်မဒီပိုက်ဆံကိုအသုံးပြုခဲ့တယ်။ ကျွန်မအနေနဲ့ဒီထောက်ပံ့ငွေကို တခြားအတွက်မသုံးချင်ပါဘူး။ သားသမီးတွေရဲ့ပညာရေးအတွက်ပဲအသုံးပြုပါတယ်။ ဒါကြောင့်ကျွန်မတို့မိသားစုအခုလို ထောက်ပံ့ကြေးရတဲ့အတွက် ထောက်ပံ့ပေးခဲ့တဲ့အလှူရှင်နဲ့ ဝန်ထမ်းတွေကို အရမ်းကျေးဇူးတင်ပါတယ်။ ဒီစခန်းမှာနေတဲ့ တခြားထောက်ပံ့ကြေးရတဲ့မိဘတွေလည်းအရမ်းပျော်ကြပါတယ်။
ချက်သမ္မတနိုင်ငံခြားရေးဝန်ကြီးဌာနနှင့် ADRA ချက်သမ္မတနိုင်ငံတို့က အဆိုပါစီမံကိန်းအတွက် ထောက်ပံ့ကူညီပေးထားခြင်းဖြစ်ပြီး စီမံကိန်း၏အဓိကရည်ရွယ်ချက်မှာ ပညာရေးနှင့် အသက်မွေးဝမ်းကြောင်း အထောက်အပံ့များကိုပေးခြင်းဖြင့် သဘာဝဘေးအန္တရာယ်နှင့် ပဋိပက္ခကြောင့်ထိခိုက်နစ်နာခဲ့ရသူများ၏ဂုဏ်သိက္ခာနှင့် စွမ်းဆောင်ရည်တို့တိုးမြှင့်လာစေရန်ဖြစ်သည်။
ADRA မြန်မာမှ ပညာရေးဆိုင်ရာအရာရှိ ဒေါ်ဌေးဌေးမြင့်က “ကျွန်မတို့စီမံကိန်းကို မြစ်ကြီးနားနဲ့ဝိုင်းမော်မှာရှိတဲ့ စစ်ရှောင်စခန်း ၁၄ ခုမှာလုပ်ဆောင်နေပါတယ်။ အဓိကအနေနဲ့ ကလေးတွေရဲ့ပညာရေးအတွက် ထောက်ပံ့ဖို့ ရည်ရွယ်ပါတယ်။ ကျွန်မတို့အခုဆိုရင် ကျောင်းသား ၃၂၃ ယောက်ကိုထောက်ပံ့မှုပေးထားပြီးဖြစ်ပါတယ်။ ကျွန်မတို့အနေနဲ့ အမှန်တကယ်လိုအပ်နေသူတွေနဲ့ ကျောင်းထွက်လုနီးပါးဖြစ်နေတဲ့ကလေးတွေကိုအဓိကထားရွေးချယ်ပါတယ်။ ကျွန်မတို့အနေနဲ့ပြန်လည်ဆန်းစစ်လိုက်တဲ့အခါ ဒီထောက်ပံ့မှုကသူတို့မိသားစုတွေအတွက်အရမ်းထိရောက်ပါတယ်။ ဒီရွှေစက်စခန်းမှာလည်း ကျွန်မတို့ကျောင်းသား ၂၄ ယောက်ကို ထောက်ပံ့ပေးနေပါတယ်။ ဆက်လက်ပြီးတော့လည်း ကျောင်းသား ၆၅ ယောက်ကိုထပ်မံထောက်ပံ့ဖို့အစီအစဉ်တွေရှိပါတယ်” ဟုဆိုသည်။
