“We have benefited greatly. Before we couldn’t do activities in the old school building. In this new building, we can do anything. We can create more.”
Kawt Phaung village is located in Kawkareik Township, Kayin State. Currently, 69 students (KG-Grade 4) attend Kawt Phaung Primary School. Previously, the environment was not conducive to learning. The school building was small, they had no library or teacher’s office and during rainy season, the roof would leak. It was difficult for the students to study.
Through the AEON4 project, ADRA supported the construction of a new school building and provided teaching materials. Now, children can learn freely in a wide and open space all year round. They can create and enhance their learning in a new environment. The students were also taught how to wash their hands and given soap, toothpaste and toothbrushes to use. Principal Daw Nan Thandar Soe said, “It is good for the children, they wash their hands before lunch time and after having lunch, they can clean their teeth. It is good manners for them.”
“ADRA also provided TOT training for our teachers. It is effective for our teaching methods. I expect a lot, I want them to be educated. I want to see them back here working if we retire. Parents are also afforded more awareness on the importance of education and are being encouraged to participate in their child’s schoolwork. They are willing to be involved in school activities. They formed a school committee and undertake healthy cooking for their children,” commented Principal Daw Nan Thandar Soe.
Grandmother Daw Win Than commented; “My two grandchildren are currently attending this school. In the beginning, they had little space. Now the teaching rooms are great. ADRA provided new school furniture, accommodation and school equipment. Children can learn happily and freely. I would like to say thank you to all.”
ကော့ဖောင်း- သင်ယူလေ့လာမှုဝန်းကျင် ဖွံ့ဖြိုးရေးအတွက် စာသင်ကျောင်းများ ဆောက်လုပ်ခြင်း
ကျွန်မတို့အတွက် အရမ်းကိုအကျိုးကျေးဇူးရှိပါတယ်။ အရင်တုန်းက စာသင်ကျောင်းဆောင်အဟောင်းမှာ မလုပ်နိုင်ခဲ့တာတွေကို အခုအဆောက်အအုံသစ်မှာ အကုန်လုပ်ဆောင်လာနိုင်ပါပြီ။ ကျွန်မတို့ပိုပြီး ဖန်တီးလာနိုင်ပါပြီ။
ကော့ဖောင်းကျေးရွာသည် ကရင်ပြည်နယ်၊ ကော့ကရိတ်မြို့နယ်အတွင်းတည်ရှိပြီး ကော့ဖောင်းမူလတန်းကျောင်းတွင် ယခုအခါ KG မှ လေးတန်းအထိ ကျောင်းသားကျောင်းသူစုစုပေါင်း ၆၉ ဦး ပညာသင်ကြားလျက်ရှိသည်။ ယခင်ကကျောင်း၏ဝန်းကျင်သည် ပညာသင်ကြားရေးအတွက် အထောက်အကူမပြုနိုင်ခဲ့ပေ။ စာသင်ကျောင်းဆောင်သည် မကျယ်ဝန်းသည့်အတွက် ဆရာများအတွက်ရုံးခန်းနှင့် စာကြည့်တိုက်မှာလည်းသီးသန့်မထားရှိနိုင်ပေ။ မိုးရာသီကာလဆိုပါက စာသင်ကျောင်းဆောင်မှာ မိုးမလုံ၊ လေမလုံသည့်အတွက် ကလေးငယ်များစာသင်ကြားရာတွင် အခက်အခဲများစွာရှိခဲ့ရသည်။
ADRA သည် AEON စီမံကိန်းမှတစ်ဆင့် စာသင်ကျောင်းအသစ်နှင့် သင်ထောက်ကူပစ္စည်းများကို ထောက်ပံ့ခဲ့သည်။ ယခုအခါ ကလေးငယ်များအနေဖြင့် ကျယ်ဝန်းသောစာသင်ခန်းတွင် စာသင်ကြားနိုင်ပြီး ၎င်းတို့အနေဖြင့် စာသင်ကျောင်းအသစ်အတွင်း သင်ယူမှုနှင့် ပတ်သက်၍လည်း ယခင်ထက်ပို၍ဖန်တီးလုပ်ဆောင်လာနိုင်သည်ဖြစ်သည်။ ထို့ပြင်ကလေးငယ်များ၏ တစ်ကိုယ်ရည်သန့်ရှင်းရေးအတွက် သွားတိုက်ဆေး၊ သွားပွတ်တံနှင့် ဆပ်ပြာစသည့်တို့ကို ထောက်ပံ့ခဲ့ပြီး လက်များကို သန့်ရှင်းစင်ကြယ်စွာဆေးကြောတတ်စေရန်လည်း
သင်ကြားပြသပေးခဲ့သည်။ ယင်းနှင့်ပတ်သက်၍ ကော့ဖောင်း(အမက) ကျောင်းမှ ကျောင်းအုပ် ဒေါ်နန်းသန္တာစိုးက “ဒါကကလေးတွေအတွက် အရမ်းအကျိုးရှိပါတယ်။ သူတို့ကိုနေ့လည်စာမစားမီနဲ့ စားပြီးချိန်မှာ လက်တွေကိုသန့်ရှင်းအောင်ဆေးကြောခိုင်းပါတယ်။ သွားလည်း တိုက်ခိုင်းပါတယ်။ သူတို့ကိုယ်တိုင်လည်းတိုက်တတ်နေပါပြီ။ ဒါဟာသူတို့အတွက်အလေ့အကျင့်ကောင်းတစ်ခုပါပဲ” ဟု ပြောဆိုသည်။
“ADRA က ကျွန်မတို့ဆရာတွေကိုလည်း သင်ကြားနည်းအဆင့်ဆင့်နဲ့ပတ်သက်ပြီး သင်တန်းပေးတာရှိပါတယ်။ ဒါကကျွန်မတို့အတွက် သင်ကြားရေးပိုင်းမှာ အရမ်းကိုအထောက်အကူဖြစ်ပါတယ်။ ကျွန်မအနေနဲ့အများကြီးမျှော်လင့်ထားတယ်။ ကလေးတွေကို ပညာတတ်ကြီးတွေဖြစ်စေချင်တယ်။ ကျွန်မတို့အနားယူသွားတဲ့တစ်နေ့မှာ ကလေးတွေအနေနဲ့ ဒီကျောင်းမှာပြန်လာပြီးတာဝန်ထမ်းဆောင်စေ ချင်တယ်” ဟု၍လည်း ၎င်းက ဆက်လက်ပြောကြားသည်။
မိဘများအနေဖြင့်လည်း ကလေးများပညာရေးအတွက် အသိအမြင်များပိုမိုရှိလာပြီး ၎င်းတို့ကိုယ်တိုင်လည်း ကလေးများကိုစာသင်ကြားရေးနှင့် ပတ်သက်၍ တွန်းအားပေးလာကြသည်။ ယင်းမျှမကဘဲ ၎င်းတို့ကိုယ်တိုင်ကျောင်းလှုပ်ရှားမှုများ၌တက်ကြွစွာပူးပေါင်းပါဝင်ကြပြီး ကျောင်းကော်မတီကိုလည်းဖွဲ့စည်းကာ ကလေးငယ်များအတွက် အာဟာရပြည့်ဝစေရန်နှင့် ကျန်းမာရေးနှင့်ညီညွတ်စေရန် ချက်ပြုတ်ကျွေး မွေးကြကြောင်း ကျောင်းအုပ် ဒေါ်နန်းသန္တာစိုးက ပြောဆိုသည်။
အဆိုပါကျောင်းတွင်တက်ရောက်ကာပညာသင်ကြားနေသည့် ကလေးငယ်များ၏ အဘွားဖြစ်သူ ဒေါ်ဝင်းသန်းက “ကျွန်မမြေးနှစ်ယောက်က အခုလက်ရှိ ဒီကျောင်းမှာတက်နေတာပါ။ အရင်တုန်းကတော့ သူတို့အတွက် စာသင်ခန်းက ကျဉ်းတယ်။ အဆင်မပြေဘူး။ အခုတော့စာသင်ခန်းအသစ်က အရမ်းကိုကောင်းသွားပြီ။ ADRA က စာသင်ကျောင်းအဆောက်အအုံအပြင် ကျောင်းသုံးပရိဘောဂတွေနဲ့ တခြားသင်ကြားရေးပစ္စည်းတွေကိုထောက်ပံ့ပေးခဲ့တယ်။ အခုဆိုရင်ကလေးတွေကလွတ်လွတ်လပ်လပ်ပျော်ပျော်ရွှင်ရွှင်နဲ့စာသင်ကြားနေနိုင်ပါ ပြီ။ ဒါကြောင့် အားလုံးကိုကျေးဇူးတင်ပါတယ်လို့ပြောချင်ပါတယ်” ဟု ပြောဆိုသည်။
