25 year old Myint Myint comes from a simple family. With six family members, her parents’ primary livelihood has been farming. As the eldest daughter, opportunities for education are limited. Furthermore, youth in the Northern Shan State struggle to find employment, particularly in skilled work. Most youths migrate in search of other work opportunities, the rest often work in farming and agriculture.
When Myint Myint heard about ADRA Myanmar’s VESI project offering vocational training in her area, she jumped at the chance shortly enrolling in 54 days of Basic Sewing training as a student in Batch 5.
“When I was selected for the short course, I was very happy because sewing is my passionate hobby”
In this training, the trainees learn about recognizing and using sewing tools and machines, and how to sew a variety of designs for men, women, and babies.
The LIFT Myanmar funded VESI project in partnership with AVSI and the Finnish Refugee Council, aims to provide vocational training to youth in IDP camps in Northern Shan State to increase their income and meet the needs of the labor market.
Included in the activity, ADRA provides meal allowances, teaching materials, and COVID-19 protective gear (Mask, Hand gel, Face shield) throughout the training to students.
After graduation, Myint Myint was able to set up her own small business in her home. She receives orders for 20 dresses each month earning 200,000 kyats that she uses to support her family with her own income.
“Although I started my small tailoring business, I still need more capital for other necessary machines and tools”.
Myint Myint claims that the knowledge and skills she gained from the vocational training short course gave her enough confidence to start her own business, creating a better life and further career opportunities.
Most youths in her area do not have reliable careers with limited access to skills-based training that can help them hunt for better job opportunities. That’s why Myint Myint believes this ADRA project is needed for youth in her area. She hopes her own small tailoring business will be successful as she sells spare parts for tailoring and traditional dresses she’s learned to make herself.

လူငယ်များအတွက် အသက်မွေးဝမ်းကြောင်းလေ့ကျင့်ရေး ပံ့ပိုးမှုမှတစ်ဆင့် အိပ်မက်များ တကယ်ဖြစ်လာခြင်း
အသက် ၂၅ နှစ်အရွယ် မမြင့်မြင့်သည် ရိုးရှင်းသော မိသားစုတစ်ခုမှ ဆင်းသက်လာသူဖြစ်သည်။ သူမအပါအဝင် မိသားစုဝင် ခုနစ်ဦးရှိပြီး သူမ၏ မိဘများက အသက်မွေးဝမ်းကျောင်းအနေဖြင့် လယ်လုပ်ကိုင်ကြသည်။ သူမသည် မောင်နှမများအနက် အကြီးဆုံးသမီးလည်းဖြစ်သည်။ သူမတို့ဒေသ ရှမ်းပြည်နယ်မြောက်ပိုင်းရှိ လူငယ်အများစုသည် အလုပ်အကိုင်ကောင်းကောင်းကို ရရှိရန် ရုန်းကန်နေကြရသည်။ လူငယ်အများစုသည် အခြားအလုပ်အကိုင် အခွင့်အလမ်းများကို ရှာဖွေရန် ရွှေ့ပြောင်းနေထိုင်ကြပြီး ကျန်သူများကလည်း လယ်ယာစိုက်ပျိုးရေးနှင့် စိုက်ပျိုးရေးလုပ်ငန်းများတွင် ဝင်ရောက်လုပ်ကိုင်ကြရသည်ဖြစ်သည်။ များမကြာမီတွင် ADRA Myanmar ၏ VESI စီမံကိန်းမှတစ်ဆင့် အသက်မွေးဝမ်းကျောင်းသင်တန်းများ ပို့ချပေးနေသည့်အကြောင်း သူမကြားသိရသောအခါ သင်တန်းအမှတ်စဉ် ၅ မှ ၅၄ ရက်ကြာ အခြေခံအပ်ချုပ်သင်တန်းကို တက်ရောက်ရန် စာရင်းပေးသွင်းခဲ့သည်။
“ကျွန်မအနေနဲ့ အပ်ချုပ်ရတာ ဝါသနာပါတာကြောင့် ရက်တိုသင်တန်းအတွက် ရွေးချယ်ခံရတဲ့အခါမှာလည်း အရမ်းပျော်မိပါတယ်”
အဆိုပါသင်တန်းတွင် သင်တန်းသားများသည် အပ်ချုပ်ကိရိယာများနှင့် စက်များကို စနစ်တကျအသုံးပြုပုံနှင့် အမျိုးသား၊ အမျိုးသမီးနှင့် ကလေးငယ်များအတွက် ဒီဇိုင်းအမျိုးမျိုး ချုပ်နည်းအစုံကို သင်ယူလေ့လာခဲ့ကြသည်။

စီမံကိန်းအနေဖြင့်လည်း သင်တန်းကာလတစ်လျှောက် ကျောင်းသားများအား စားသောက်စရိတ်ထောက်ပံ့ကြေးများ၊ သင်ထောက်ကူပစ္စည်းများနှင့် COVID-19 အကာအကွယ်ပစ္စည်းများ (Mask၊ Hand gel၊ Face shield) စသည်တို့ကို ပံ့ပိုးပေးခဲ့သည်။ သင်တန်းပြီးဆုံးပြီးနောက် သူမအနေဖြင့် နေအိမ်တွင် ကိုယ်ပိုင်အပ်ချုပ်ဆိုင်လေးတစ်ဆိုင် ဖွင့်လှစ်နိုင်ခဲ့သည်။ သူမသည် သူမ၏ကိုယ်ပိုင်ဝင်ငွေဖြင့် မိသားစုကိုထောက်ပံ့နိုင်မည့် တစ်လလျှင် ကျပ် ၂၀၀,၀၀၀ ခန့်ရရှိသော အထည်၂၀ ချုပ်လုပ်ရန်အတွက် အော်ဒါများကိုလည်း လက်ခံရရှိခဲ့သည်။
“ကျွန်မရဲ့ အသေးစားစက်ချုပ်လုပ်ငန်းကို စလုပ်ခဲ့ပေမယ့် တခြားလိုအပ်တဲ့ စက်တွေနဲ့ ကိရိယာတွေအတွက် အရင်းအနှီးပိုလိုပါသေးတယ်” ဟု သူမက ဆိုသည်။
ယင်းအသက်မွေးဝမ်းကြောင်း ရက်တိုသင်တန်းမှ ရရှိသော အသိပညာနှင့် ကျွမ်းကျင်မှုများသည် ကိုယ်ပိုင်လုပ်ငန်းတစ်ခုစတင်ရန် လုံလောက်သော ယုံကြည်မှုကို ပေးစွမ်းနိုင်ကာ ပိုမိုကောင်းမွန်သောဘဝနှင့် နောက်ထပ် အသက်မွေးဝမ်းကြောင်း အခွင့်အလမ်းများ ဖန်တီးပေးနိုင်စွမ်းရှိကြောင်း သူမက ပြောဆိုသည်။ သူမတို့ဒေသတွင် လူငယ်အများစုအတွက် ကျွမ်းကျင်မှုအခြေခံသက်မွေးသင်တန်းများပေးခြင်းနှင့် စိတ်ချရသော အသက်မွေးဝမ်းကျောင်း အလုပ်အကိုင်ကောင်းများ မရှိသလောက်နည်းပါးသည်ဖြစ်၍ ဒေသရှိ လူငယ်များအတွက် ADRA စီမံကိန်းသည်တစ်ဖက်တစ်လမ်းမှ လိုအပ်သည်ဟုလည်း သူမယုံကြည်ထားသည်။
သူမအနေဖြင့်လည်း ကိုယ်တိုင်ချုပ်လုပ်ထားသော ရိုးရာအထည်များနှင့် အပ်ချုပ်အပိုပစ္စည်းများကို ရောင်းချပေးနိုင်သော ကိုယ်ပိုင်စက်ချုပ်လုပ်ငန်းအသေးစား လုပ်ငန်းရှင်တစ်ဦးအဖြစ် အောင်မြင်ရန်လည်း မျှော်လင့်ထားသည်ဖြစ်သည်။
