Nan Sanay Ma is from Kawt Pran village in Kawkareik Township, not far from the green Dona Mountains. She is the sixth daughter of eight siblings. Of the siblings, she was the only one born without both legs.
“I was always asking myself, why am I allowed to live such a life,”
Nan Sanay Ma had only finished primary school, so she gave up the desire to continue her education because she had a lot of difficulties getting to school from the village.
Due to the loss of access to education, Nan Sanay Ma spends most of her time helping with household chores. Sometimes when she has free time, she helps her father who is a tailor.
“My father told me that I needed to learn advanced sewing. I replied that it’s impossible, because I knew my difficulty. I was afraid to learn because I had weaknesses, especially due to my weakness in education and discrimination by some people. My father also knew this.”
One day, members of the Myanmar Physically Handicapped Association and some HI volunteers came to Nan Sanay Ma’s village to compile a list of people with disabilities and she was listed as being disabled. After that, Nan Sanay Ma had the opportunity to attend an Advanced Sewing training organized by ADRA Myanmar and GTHS (Hpa-an).
“I was able to attend the training very well because my trainer and the HI organization helped me.”
Now, she has the opportunity to learn about different men and women’s sewing styles and to start her own business.
“I can fulfill my father’s wishes. I believe I can help our family and community with the knowledge I have”, she said with a smile. “I am also very happy and thankful to all the organizations that are helping.”
The Norad and ADRA Norway funded SEAQE2 project is offering TVET short courses for youth in and around Hpa-an, Kayin State. The program supports those with disabilities like Nan Sanay Ma to learn valuable skills in market driven employment sectors, and the knowledge to start their own business at home. Nan Sanay Ma participated in Batch 1 for 2019 and completed the Advanced Sewing training course followed by a 20 day internship.
နန်းစနေမ၏ ဇာတ်ကြောင်း- TVET သက်မွေးပညာသင်တန်းများသည် မသန်စွမ်းလူငယ်များအတွက် မျှော်လင့်ချက်ဖြစ်စေသည်။
စိမ်းလန်းသော ဒေါနတောင်တန်းနှင့် မဝေးလှသော ကော့ပရံကျေးရွာသည် နန်းစနေမ၏ မွေးရပ်မြေပင် ဖြစ်ပါသည်။ သူမသည်မွေးချင်းမောင်နှမရှစ်ဦးအနက် ခြောက်ယောက်မြောက်လည်း ဖြစ်ပြီး မောင်နှမများအနက် သူမတစ်ဦးတည်းသာ မွေးရာပါခြေနှစ်ဖက်လုံးမပါဝင်လာခဲ့ပေ။
“သမီးလေလူ့လောကမှာ ဒီလိုဘဝမျိုးနဲ့ ဘာကြောင့်အသက်ရှင်ခွင့်ရတာလဲလို့ ကိုယ့်ကိုယ်ကိုယ် ခဏခဏ ပြန်မေးမိတယ်” ဟု မကျေနပ်မှုများစွာဖြင့် ပြောပြနေခဲ့သည်။
သူမအနေဖြင့် မူလတန်းသာသင်ယူခွင့်ရရှိခဲ့ပြီး ရွာနှင့် ကျောင်းသို့ သွားလာရေးမှာလည်း အခက်အခဲများစွာကြုံတွေ့ရမှုကြောင့် အတန်းပညာဆက်လက်သင်ယူလိုချင်သည့် စိတ်ဆန္ဒကို လက်လျှော့ခဲ့ရသည်။ အတန်းပညာဆက်လက်သင်ကြားခွင့် ဆုံးရှုံးသည့်အလျောက် သူမ၏ အချိန်များအား အိမ်အလုပ်ဝိုင်းကူလုပ်ကိုင်ခြင်းဖြင့် အချိန်ကုန်စေခဲ့သည်။ တစ်ခါတစ်ရံသူမအားလပ်သောအချိန်တွင်လည်း တစ်နိုင်တစ်ပိုင်စက်ချုပ်လုပ်ငန်းလုပ်ကိုင်နေသော ဖခင်ဖြစ်သူကို ဝိုင်းဝန်းကူညီခဲ့သည်။
မှတ်မှတ်ရရ အဖေစကားတစ်ခွန်းမှတ်မိသေးတယ်။ အဖေကပြောတယ်။ သမီးဒီထက်ကောင်းတဲ့ အဆင့်မြင့်တဲ့စက်ချုပ်ပညာရပ်တွေကို သင်ယူရမယ်လို့ အဖေကပြောတယ်။ ကျွန်မလည်း မဖြစ်နိုင်ဘူး။ မလုပ်နိုင်ဘူးဆိုပြီး ပြန်ပြောမိခဲ့တယ်။ ဘာကြောင့်လဲဆိုတော့ ကျွန်မအခက်အခဲ ကျွန်မအသိဆုံးဖြစ်နေလို့ပါ။ လူတကာရဲ့ ပြောဆိုမှု၊ ခွဲခြားမှု၊ အတန်းပညာအားနည်းမှုတွေကြောင့် ကျွန်မအားငယ်နေခဲ့လို့ပါ။ ကျွန်မဘာကြောင့်အဲဒီလိုပြောမိလည်းဆိုတာ အဖေလည်း ရိပ်မိမယ်လို့ထင်ပါတယ်လေ။
သိမ်ငယ်သောစိတ်၊ အားငယ်သောစိတ်နှင့် လူတောထဲမသွားဘဲ နေလာခဲ့ရာ နှစ်အနည်းငယ် ကြာသွားခဲ့သည်။ မမျှော်လင့်သော တစ်နေ့တွင် မြန်မာနိုင်ငံကိုယ်အင်္ဂါပြန်လည် သန်စွမ်းရေးအဖွဲ့ဝင်များနှင့် ၄င်းစေတနာ့ဝန်ထမ်းများ၊ HI အဖွဲ့သားအချို့ ကျေးရွာအတွင်း၌ မသန်စွမ်းစာရင်းကောက်ယူသောအခါ သူမသည်လည်း စာရင်းဝင်တစ်ဦးဖြစ်လာခဲ့သည်။ အဆိုပါအဖွဲ့အစည်းများ၏ ကူညီဖေးမမှုများကြောင့် သူမ၏ဖခင်တက်စေချင်သော အဆင့်မြင့်စက်ချုပ်သင်တန်းဖြစ်သည့် အစိုးရနည်းပညာအထက်တန်းကျောင်း(ဘားအံ)နှင့် ADRA Myanmar တို့ပူးပေါင်းဖွင့်လှစ်ထားသည့် သင်တန်းသို့တက်ရောက်သင်ယူခွင့်ရရှိခဲ့သည်။
သင်တန်းက ဆရာ၊ ဆရာမတွေနဲ့ အားပေးနှစ်သိမ့်မှုတွေနဲ့ HI အဖွဲ့ရဲ့ကူညီထောက်ပံ့မှုတွေကြောင့် သင်တန်းကို ကျွန်မကောင်းမွန်စွာတက်ရောက်နိုင်ခဲ့ပါတယ်။ ယခုအချိန်တွင် သူမအနေဖြင့် အမျိုးသား၊ အမျိုးသမီးအင်္ကျီ ဒီဇိုင်းအမျိုးမျိုးချုပ်နည်းကို သင်ကြားလေ့လာခွင့်ရရှိခဲ့ပြီး တစ်နိုင်တစ်ပိုင် ကိုယ်တိုင်စီးပွားရေးတစ်ခုအနေဖြင့် ချုပ်လုပ်နိုင်ခဲ့ပြီဖြစ်သည်။
အဖေ့ဆန္ဒကို ဖြည့်ဆည်းပေးနိုင်သလို သမီးလည်းကိုယ်တတ်မြောက်ထားတဲ့ ပညာလေးနဲ့ ကိုယ့်မိသားစု၊ ကိုယ့်ရပ်ရွာအတွက် အကျိုးပြုနိုင်မယ်လို့ ယုံကြည်ထားတယ်” ဟု ရွှင်လန်းသော ပီတိအပြုံးများဖြင့် ပြောပြခဲ့သည်။
သူမအနေဖြင့် ပံ့ပိုးကူညီသောအဖွဲ့ အားလုံးကိုလည်း ကျေးဇူးတင်စကားပြောမဆုံးနိုင်အောင်ပင် ဝမ်းသာပျော်ရွှင်နေခဲ့သည်။
Norad နှင့် ADRA Norway ထောက်ပံ့မှုဖြင့်ဆောင်ရွက်နေသည့် SEAQE2 စီမံကိန်းသည် ကရင်ပြည်နယ်၊ ဘားအံမြို့နှင့်အနီးတစ်ဝိုက်ရှိ လူငယ်များအတွက် သက်မွေးပညာရပ်ဆိုင်ရာကာလတို သင်တန်းများကို သင်ကြားပေးလျက်ရှိသည်။ နန်းစနေမကဲ့သို့သော မသန်စွမ်းသူများကို တန်ဖိုးရှိသောကျွမ်းကျင်မှုများရရှိစေရန်နှင့် ကိုယ်ပိုင်စီးပွားရေးလုပ်ငန်းများကို ၄င်းတို့နေအိမ်တွင်လုပ်ဆောင်နိုင်စေရန် ပညာရပ်များကို ပံ့ပိုးကူညီပေးလျက်ရှိပါသည်။ နန်းစနေမသည် ၂၀၁၉ ခုနှစ်အတွင်းကဖွင့်လှစ်သည့် သင်တန်းအမှတ်စဥ် ၁ တွင်ပါဝင်ခဲ့ပြီး အဆင့်မြင့်အပ်ချုပ်သင်တန်းကိုတက်ရောက်ခဲ့ကာ အလုပ်သင်ကာလ ရက် ၂၀ ပြီးဆုံးခဲ့သည်။
