A key activity in the MFAT and ADRA New Zealand funded SURE project has revolved around cultivating community nurseries in target villages such as Lungngo, Sempi, Balei and Vawti by providing technical support and materials to local farmers.
Keilung village is situated at an elevation level of 6,312 feet in Myanmar’s Northern Chin State where water scarcity is prevalent. Upon hearing of the success and survival rate of the other community nurseries in neighboring villages, Sa Phin Ccing , a farmer from Keilung became interested in sowing avocado and coffee. Since it was not Avocado season yet, SURE’s Natural Resource Management Officer was able to advise the farmer to wait until December to grow Avocado but could start sowing coffee seeds.
The SURE project provides support in technical knowledge, sowing techniques, seeds, plastic sheets, plastic bags (7*3), horticultural shade and assists in nursery development techniques. Due to this technical support, Sa Phin Ccing was able to establish a successful coffee nursery in his home.
ကေလုံးကျေးရွာတွင် ကော်ဖီပျိုးခင်းများ တည်ထောင်ခြင်း
MFAT နှင့် ADRA နယူးဇီလန်တို့က ရန်ပုံငွေထောက်ပံ့ထားသော SURE စီမံကိန်းတွင် အဓိကလုပ်ငန်းတစ်ခု အနေဖြင့် လုံငိုး၊ ဆမ်ပီး၊ ဘလေးနှင့် ဝေါ်တီးအစရှိသည့်ကျေးရွာများတွင် ပျိုးခင်းများစိုက်ပျိုးတည်ထောင်ခြင်းနှင့် ပတ်သက်၍ ဒေသခံလယ်သမားများကို နည်းပညာနှင့် ပစ္စည်းအထောက်အပံ့ပေးခြင်းတို့ကိုလုပ်ဆောင်ပေးသည်။
ကေလုံးကျေးရွာသည် ပင်လယ်ရေမျက်နှာပြင်အထက်အမြင့်ပေ ၆,၃၁၂ ပေ၊ ချင်းပြည်နယ်အတွင်းတည်ရှိပြီး ရေရှားပါးသည့်နေရာတစ်ခုလည်းဖြစ်သည်။
အနီးဝန်းကျင်ကျေးရွာများရှိ စိုက်ပျိုးခင်းများ၏အောင်မြင်မှုနှင့် ရှင်သန်မှုအနေအထားတို့ကို ကြားသိရသော အခါတွင် ကေလုံးကျေးရွာမှ လယ်ယာလုပ်ကိုင်သူ ဦးစဖိန်းတိန်သည် ထောပတ်သီးနှင့် ကော်ဖီပင်တို့ကို စိုက်ပျိုးရန်အတွက် စိတ်ဝင်စားလာခဲ့သည်။ သို့သော်ထောပတ်ပင်စိုက်ပျိုးရာသီချိန်မဟုတ်သေးသောကြောင့် SURE စီမံကိန်းမှ သဘာဝအရင်းအမြစ် စီမံခန့်ခွဲရေးဆိုင်ရာအရာရှိသည် ၄င်းအား ကနဦးတွင် ကော်ဖီပင်များကို စတင်စိုက်ပျိုးရန် အကြံပြုပေးခဲ့သည်
ထို့ပြင်စီမံကိန်းမှနေ၍ နည်းပညာဆိုင်ရာ ဗဟုသုတများအပါအဝင် မျိုးစေ့ကြဲခြင်းနည်းပညာ၊ မျိုးစေ့များနှင့် ပျိုးအိတ်များ အစရှိသည်တို့ကိုထောက်ပံ့ပေးပြီး ပျိုးခင်းဖွံ့ဖြိုးရေးနည်းစနည်းများတွင်လည်း ကူညီဆောင်ရွက်ပေးခဲ့သည်။ အဆိုပါနည်းပညာအထောက်အပံ့ကြောင့် ယခုအခါသူ၏နေအိမ်တွင် ကော်ဖီပင်ပျိုးခင်းကို အောင်မြင်စွာတည်ထောင်နိုင်ခဲ့ပြီဖြစ်သည်
