In Myanmar’s Northern Chin State, common and rare orchids grow well naturally due to fair weather conditions and can be found spread all over the State. Nowadays there are those who sell these flowers illegally causing most of the valuable Orchids to become critically endangered and the need to protect and maintain this valuable species.
An activity in the SURE project funded by MFAT and ADRA New Zealand saw the first Orchid nursery established in Lungngo Village, Chin state where you can find valuable orchid species in the nursery.
Orchid nurseries are currently a pilot project activity to test the sustainability and conservation of local orchid species. The SURE project covers 12 villages in Chin state including Lungngo Village. Laungva, Kelong, Htesi and Resaw villages also have valuable orchid species, especially in Htesi and Resaw where you can find untouched natural beauty and virgin forest resources nearby.
This activity aims to support the local people by teaching beneficiaries how to grow and trade valuable orchid species for income generation and small business legally. Legal trade is important in order to maintain rare orchid species in Myanmar, therefore ADRA Myanmar is currently undergoing the process of obtaining a legal trade orchid license through the Ministry of Forestry Government Department.
There are over one thousand different types of orchid species throughout various areas of Myanmar including many rare species according to forestry records.
Our SURE project provides support to beneficiaries from low income families for sustainable economic growth and poverty reduction by upgrading sustainably maintained agricultural practices, water resources and natural resource management.
မြန်မာ့သဘာဝမျိုးရင်းသစ်ခွများကို ချင်းပြည်နယ်အတွင်းရှိ နေရာဒေသတော်တော်များများတွင် သဘာဝအလျောက် ပေါက်ရောက်နေသည်ကိုတွေ့ရှိနိုင်ပြီး ဒေသတွင်းမှာ သင့်တင့်မျှတသည့်ရာသီဥတုအခြေအနေကြောင့် ရှားပါးအဖိုးတန်သည့် သစ်ခွများသည် သဘာဝအလျောက် ကြီးထွားရှင်သန်ကြသည်။ ဒီကနေ့အချိန်အခါမှာတော့ ရာသီဥတုပြောင်းလဲခြင်း၊ သစ်တောပြုန်းတီးခြင်းတို့အပြင် စည်းကမ်းမဲ့ခူးယူကာ တရားမဝင်ရောင်းချနေခြင်းတို့ကြောင့် သစ်ခွများမှာ ရှားပါးမျိုးသုဉ်း ပျောက်ကွယ်မည့်အခြေအနေနှင့် ရင်ဆိုင်နေရပြီလည်းဖြစ်သည်။ ဒါကြောင့် ကျွန်ုပ်တို့အနေဖြင့် ရှားပါးသစ်ခွမျိုးစိတ်များကို ကာကွယ်ထိန်းသိမ်းစောင့်ရှောက်ရန်လိုအပ်လျက်ရှိနေပါသည်။
New Zealand Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Trade (MFAT) နှင့် ADRA New Zealand တို့၏ ထောက်ပံ့ငွေဖြင့်ဆောင်ရွက်နေသည့် SURE စီမံကိန်း၏တစ်စိတ်တစ်ဒေသလှုပ်ရှားမှုအဖြစ် ချင်းပြည်နယ်အတွင်းရှိ Lungngo ကျေးရွာတွင် မြန်မာ့မျိုးရင်းသစ်ခွများကိုတစ်နေရာတည်း၌တွေ့ရှိနိုင်မည့် သစ်ခွပျိုးဥယျာဉ်တစ်ခုကိုလည်း ပထမဆုံးအနေဖြင့်တည်ထောင်ခဲ့ပြီး မြန်မာ့မျိုးရင်းသစ်ခွများထိန်းသိမ်းရေးကို တစ်ဖက်တစ်လမ်းမှ အကောင်အထည်ဖော် ဆောင်ရွက်လျက်ရှိပါသည်။
အဆိုပါပျိုးဥယျာဉ်တည်ထောင်မှုသည် ဒေသတွင်းသစ်ခွမျိုးစိတ်များ ရေရှည်တည်တံ့ရေးနှင့် ထိန်းသိမ်းစောင့်ရှောက်ရေးအတွက် ရှေ့ပြေးစီမံကိန်းတစ်ခုလည်းဖြစ်သည်။ SURE စီမံကိန်းအနေဖြင့် ချင်းပြည်နယ်ရှိ Lungngo ကျေးရွာအပါအဝင် ကျေးရွာပေါင်း ၁၂ ရွာကို လွှမ်းခြုံထားသည်။ ယင်းကျေးရွာများအနက်မှ Htesi နှင့် Resaw ကျေးရွာအနီးဝန်းကျင်ရှိ သစ်တောများအတွင်း၌လည်း သဘာဝအတိုင်းပေါက်ရောက်နေသည့် အဖိုးတန်သစ်ခွ အများအပြားကို တွေ့ရှိနိုင်ပေသည်။
ယင်းလှုပ်ရှားမှု၏ရည်ရွယ်ချက်မှာ သစ်ခွများကိုထိန်းသိမ်းစောင့်ရှောက်ခြင်းမှသည် ဒေသခံများအတွက် အသေးစား တရားဝင်စီးပွားရေးလုပ်ငန်းတစ်ခုအဖြစ်အကောင်အထည်ဖော်ကာ ဝင်ငွေတိုးမြှင့်ရရှိလာစေရန်လည်းဖြစ်သည်။ မြန်မာနိုင်ငံတွင် သစ်ခွများကိုဥပဒေအရကုန်သွယ်ခြင်းသည် ရှားပါးသစ်ခွများကို ထိန်းသိမ်းစောင့်ရှောက်ရေးတွင် အဓိကအရေးကြီးလှပါသည်။ထို့ကြောင့် ADRA မြန်မာအနေဖြင့် လက်ရှိတွင် သစ်ခွများကိုတရားဝင်ကုန်သွယ်ခွင့်လိုင်စင် ရရှိရေးလုပ်ငန်းစဉ်ကိုလည်း အစိုးရအဖွဲ့ဌာနဆိုင်ရာများနှင့် ပူးပေါင်းအကောင်အထည်ဖော်ဆောင်ရွက်လျက်ရှိပါသည်။
မြန်မာနိုင်ငံတွင် သစ်တောဦးစီးဌာန၏မှတ်တမ်းတင်ထားမှုများအရ သစ်ခွမျိုးစိတ်ပေါင်းတစ်ထောင်ကျော်ရှိနေပြီး မှတ်တမ်း မတင်နိုင်သေးသည့် ရှားပါးသစ်ခွမျိုးစိတ်များလည်းအများအပြားကျန်ရှိနေနိုင်ပါသည်။
ကျွန်ုပ်တို့၏ SURE စီမံကိန်းသည် ရေရှည်တည်တံ့သောစိုက်ပျိုးရေးနည်းလမ်းများကိုဖော်ဆောင်ခြင်း၊ ရေအရင်းအမြစ်နှင့် သဘာဝသယံဇာတ စံမံခန့်ခွဲမှု အဆင့့်မြှင့်တင်ခြင်းမှသည် ဒေသခံများအတွက် ရေရှည်တည်မြဲသည့် စီးပွားရေးဖွံ့ဖြိုးတိုးတက်မှုရရှိစေရန်နှင့် ဆင်းရဲနွမ်းပါးမှုလျှော့ချရေးတို့အတွက် အဓိကထားအကောင်အထည်ဖော် ဆောင်ရွက်နေခြင်းဖြစ်သည်။
