SURE Project Orientation

The SURE ‘Sustainable Rural Economic Development’ project funded and supported by ADRA New Zealand and MFAT, held orientation for project staff from the 16th – 19th January 2017 in Gangaw, Magway Region.

Special guest Virginia Pycroft, ADRA New Zealand’s recently appointed Program Manager, facilitated the orientation of SURE’s 10 project staff including Project Manager Min Lwin.

Project Orientation included an in-depth discussion and analysis of the projects goal, outcomes and activities, understanding financial practices and forms, HR policies, logistic and procurement practices, and how to write a success story and collect beneficiary photos just to name a few.

ADRA Myanmar’s Finance/Administration Director Hery Henrisse, Programs Director Derek Glass, M&E Coordinator Brenda Britton, PR & Communications Officer Emma McCrow, HR/Secretariat Officer Sa Myo Aye and Procurement/Logistic Officer Myo Zaw Htwe were all in attendance to conduct the various training sessions.

The SURE project will run for the next 5 years in harmony with the ADRA Australia and AusAID funded PRICE II ‘Poverty Reduction Through Community Empowerment Phase II’ project up in the Chin Hills in the Townships of Matupi and Mindat focussing on agriculture and building sustainable livelihoods.
